1881 antique 'MIZPAH' ring in 18kt yellow gold. A 6.5mm wide D-shape band fitted to the front with capitalized Gothic letters in relief spelling the word 'MIZPAH'. Hallmarked 18kt gold, London, 1881.
The 'Mizpah' love token jewellery was gifted as a keepsake for loved ones when they were faced with long periods away from one another. It originated from the Bible verse Genesis 31:49 'And Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.'
