1960s 'I protect what I love' smokey quartz intaglio signet ring in 18kt yellow gold. Centred with an octagonal mixed cut smokey quartz, featuring a carved pictorial of a gemstone containing an eye and surrounded by rays of radiating light, followed by a border of German words 'Schütze, was ich liebe' which translates to 'Protect what I love', the complete intaglio translates to 'protect what I love with a watchful eye', set in a rubover setting and flanked by broad integrating shoulders flowing to a solid shank. Hallmarked 18kt gold, Birmingham, 1961.
